Patron allergic to milk, peanut and tree nuts. FANTASTIC! Talked to the hostess, our waiter and most importantly the chef. Not only did he and I go thru the entire menu, but at the end of the meal he came back out to see how everything went. Now thats what I call service. Our son had the kids meal which consisted of macaroni with turkey meat sauce, french bread dinner roll, fresh fruit and steamed green beans. Dessert out in the food court. 10/09/2009 This story shared by Brock. Patron allergic to milk, peanut and tree nuts. Talked to the manager, chef, wait person and hostess/maitre d'. The Chef was wonderful. Not only did he come to answer our questions but came afterwards to see if everything was okay. 10/13/09 Ann copied from the Disney website: "This location can accommodate most special dietary needs. Walt Disney World General Information (407) 939-7675 (Reservations) 11/9/09 This shared by Sabrina. Patron allergic to milk, peanut and tree nuts. We had no incidences but some restaurants were much more attentive than others (even at Disney). Disney Dining was great! I had to fax them ahead of time the locations and times we would be eating so that they could inform the restaurants. They pointed me to their website so a list of restaurants with food allergy options. They submitted via email a list of junkish food in all the different food courts. Ie: Rice dream ice cream bar, enjoy life products, divvie cookies, etc. which was very helpful. 10/16/09 This shared by Lissa. Saw that you listed one restaurant at Disney World, but every Disney-owned restaurant is exceptional. They have a special diets team! Here's my article regarding Visiting Walt Disney World With Food Allergies. Editor's (Ann) note: This article is loaded with useful info to dine at WDW with food allergies. |
Les Chefs de France France Pavillion Epcot Center Walt Disney World Resort (407) WDW-DINE 11/9/09 This review shared by Sabrina. Patron allergic to milk, peanut and tree nuts. Aggravating! Even though Disney Dining called ahead to let them know we were coming - they were nightmarish. First, I was told by Disney Dining that this restaurant would be a place for our son to have options. Reservation Restaurant Hostess when we arrived absolutely Ignorant! Our waiter was a new kid from France who spoke very little English and who obviously didnt understand the concept of food allergies. We asked him to ask the Chef if the chicken contained milk or nuts. He said he would check and never did. After 20 minutes or so of dealing with our waiter, we asked the Dining Hostess who sat us to get the Chef. Finally a Manager came out. He made only 1 suggestion which was the fish pan fried with flour in olive oil. Sauted green beans and tomato with olive oil. My son wanted the pasta with chicken but he couldnt eat it as it is already prepared with cheese in the breading so the Manager made him fresh cooked pasta to go along with his fish. I think he knew we werent happy with our waiter. The Manager did come by afterwards and informed me that he scolded the young man. All waiters should be informative about what goes into the meal as it is Disney policy. Thankfully no problems. Alex had the raspberry sorbet for dessert. The mixed green salad with olive oil and balsamic vinegar for an appie. |
Portobello Restaurant Downtown Walt Disney® Walt Disney World® Resort 1650 Buena Vista Drive Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830 (407) 934-8888 (407) WDW-DINE (Disney Line) 11/9/09 This review shared by Sabrina. Patron allergic to milk, peanut and tree nuts. We asked for the chef while waiting for our table. Chef was very attentive (pre and post dinner). He went as far as looking for our waiter to make sure nothing went wrong with our son's meal. He had spaghetti with red sauce but couldn't have the bread as it was made in a facility with dessert items (butter and nuts). Salad with olive oil and vinegar. No desserts were ordered as it was late, but sorbet was on the menu. |
